PROOF BELOW that bible expands LOVE over everything else.
Is there any coincidence that references in the bible use the words "great, greatest, or greater" being connected at the highest percentage to the word or teaching of Love? References to the word Love are worded to be "Above All" in importance. Love is expanded over all else, the letter of the law (the additional scripture sections) was made for the worst rulebreakers (1 Timothy 1:7-11) and it all blends into each decision we make. World peace would be much more easy and better if we followed the teachings of love to the same degree they are stressed in the bible.
Colossians 3:14 "And Above All these put on Love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony."
And
1 Peter 4:8 "Above all, keep Loving one another earnestly, since Love covers a multitude of sins.”
These last two verses show how much expanded Love really is in the bible. "Above all" put on love and "Above all, keep loving one another. Let’s not forget that Love has the power to cover sins. The word "Multitude" means a very large number, that's good to know because most of us have our share of sins! Though thank goodness if we just learn to love each other correctly, things take care of themselves that much better.
Okay, let’s use some words that include the word usage of ‘Great’ in accordance with passages that reference the word Love. We already know love has the ability to ‘Cover a Multitude of sins,’ and "one who loves and sins more, is greater than one who sins little and barely loves at all." We already know the word Great or Greatest is referenced in the greatest commandments, so let’s look at a couple more references!
1 Corinthians 13:13 "So now Faith, Hope, and Love abide, these three; but the GREATEST of these is Love."
If you can move mountains with Faith, that's a pretty powerful ability in itself – especially if you can sell mountain groups of people. We all know life without Hope isn't a life worth living, it’s a pretty powerful virtue word as well. Yet the bible specifically time and time again makes note that Love is to be expanded and referred to as even greater than even Faith and Hope. As we know from Colossians "Love binds everything in perfect harmony," so I'll give an example of how Faith and Love go hand in hand. To please God, you have to have faith as referenced in passage below.
Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."
You have to believe in something to have faith in the belief. Faith and works go hand in hand, so simply said carry out your belief through proper interaction with others. God will reward you for it. Hope is part of belief too. The verse below continues the emphasis I am trying to make on love being highlighted within the gospel so much so as it is.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 " If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but HAVE NOT LOVE, I am a NOISY GONG or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but HAVE NOT LOVE, I AM NOTHING. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but HAVE NOT LOVE, I gain NOTHING."
Can’t not reference this next passage below while I’m at it, given it starts proper discernment for the definition of the word itself. It’s the cliché wedding one, except it’s proper to reflect upon and good to spend a self-constructive thought with.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
It's important before all else to build your faith and belief on the importance of Loving others, because that gets you the most points with you’re the boss Jesus, that’s what helps make us see the heart of God towards His chosen beloved people. It’s a blessing when you learn to love, even if you must love your enemies, which is no small task – the bible progressed social precautions by further defining love in the New Testament because the teaching of love must be manifest correctly into our world, even more than the times of old.
